BOYS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: St. Joe drops 110 on Clayton

The St. Joseph High School boys’ basketball team put its offense in high gear during Friday night’s nonleague game against visiting Clayton, using Jordan Herrin’s 40-point performance to run off with a 110-88 victory.

The Wildcats (9-5) led by just seven points at intermission, but exploded for 65 second-half points. Marcellus Ross added 19 points and Devin Martin scored 17 in support of Herrin’s big game.

Clayton, which has scored at least 80 points in a game nine times this season with a top mark of 110, got 35 points from junior Michael Gibson.

• Glassboro 100, Camden Academy 42: The Bulldogs (14-3) also reached the century mark with points from 13 players, including Acosta Kittles’ 31 and 15 from David Still.

• Burlington Twp. 66, Moorestown Friends 59: Five of the Falcons’ six scorers reached double figures, led by 14 points each from Eric Fleming, Ian Taylor and Ferryton Kpalie. Jordan White canned five 3-pointers in a 30-point game for the Foxes.

• Camden Co. Tech 70, King’s Christian 56: Earon Trowery and Warren Bethea accounted for most of Tech’s offense, pouring in 24 points apiece. Bethea had four 3-pointers.

• Deptford 72, LEAP Academy 69: Deptford’s D’Andre Blue-Eli and LEAP’s Donovon Guess scored 30 points apiece to share game scoring honors, but the Spartans also got 18 points and 18 rebounds by Jahaud Lowber.

Palmyra 67, Penn Tech 63: Taj Harris made five 3-pointers and finished with 33 points as the Panthers held off Tech. Max Smyth added 18 for the winners.

TRI-STATE SHOWCASE

• Camden 70, Kingsway 43: Camden, ranked No. 7 in the Courier-Post Mean 15, got a trio of 3-pointers from Corey Greer, plus Jamal Holloway’s 15 points in knocking off the Dragons. Myles Thompson owned the paint, scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds - seven on the offensive end. Matt Blaszczyk led Kingsway with a game-high 20 points.

Woodrow Wilson 67, Holy Cross 65: Tymere Tokley scored 27 points as the Tigers won a thriller at the end. Frank Ochman led the Lancers with 26 points and Vince Sciortino added 13. Jake Askin chipped in 11.

• Winslow 66, Sterling 44: Michael Cubbage had 21 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists as the Eagles cruised to the win. Emmanuel Lowe added 11 for the winner, while Devon Tuten had 15 to lead the Silver Knights.

TRI-COUNTY

• Woodstown 41, Gloucester Catholic 27: Jawan Roane collected 18 points as the only player in the game to reach double figures, helping the Wolverines (16-1) claim a triumph.

CAPE-ATLANTIC

• Oakcrest 63, Cape May Tech 30: Oakcrest scored 23 of the first 25 points of the third quarter to put the game away. LaShawn Elliott had 18 points with four 3-pointers, Vernon Burch added seven assists and three steals, while Lateef Hicks and Corey Smith had six rebounds apiece.

• Absegami 59, Buena 41: The Braves spotted Buena a seven-point lead after one quarter before Steven Ferebee (17), Brian Townsel (17) and Vinnie Nelson (16) guided the comeback.

• Bridgeton 64, Vineland 49: DeQuan Solomon scored 14 of his team-high 18 points before halftime, guiding the Bulldogs to a 12-point lead at intermission.
