Paz Gismondi scored on a 38-yard pass from Nick Diaco for what proved to be the winning points as the West Deptford High School football team defeated Paulsboro 21-18 Saturday.

The game was the final regular-season contest of the season and the last game in the Colonial Conference. The 12-team league will be part of the West Jersey Football League next fall.

Darren McKeown and Gio Gismondi had fourth-quarter interceptions for the Eagles, who will take an 11-0 record into next Sunday’s South Jersey Group 2 final against Cedar Creek.

Diaco, a senior quarterback/defensive end, also scored on a 3-yard run for West Deptford. He had four sacks on defense. Elijah Pratt scored the team’s first TD on a 6-yard run in the second quarter.

Kyle Jones, starting at quarterback for the injured Carlton Aiken, threw two touchdown passes to John Pellegrini for Paulsboro. Jones also scored on a 60-yard fumble return.

Pellegrini’s TD catches covered 27 yards in the first quarter and four yards in the third.

Paulsboro finished 8-3.
