Authorities said Ingraham teaches at the Ann Mullen Middle School in Gloucester Township, but did not say where the offense allegedly occurred.

Schools Superintendent John Bilodeau said he was "very disturbed" by the charges.

"When first notified of the allegations, school administrators reported them to the proper authorities," Bilodeau said. He said Ingraham "was immediately removed from the classroom, suspended and ordered to remain off school grounds."

He said the prosecutor's office has directed the district to make no additional comment.

Ingraham earns $91,770 a year as a 6th grade social studies teacher, according to online records.

The Sicklerville  resident is charged with individual counts of sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
