Softball roundup: Lenape powers its way to victory

The Lenape High School softball team swung for the fences on Thursday, connecting on four home runs en route to a 13-5 victory over Cherry Hill West in an Olympic Conference showdown.

Jess Chen led the charge for the Indians, going 3-for-5, including a homer, with three RBIs. Kendra Mahon, Julia Rosenblatt and Emma Brennan all left the yard for Lenape.

Jade Stubblefield had two hits, one a double in the loss, and Arcilia Hernandez went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs for Cherry Hill West.

COLONIAL

• Gateway 14, Haddonfield 4: Kennedy Whalen did it all for the Gators, striking out 12 to earn the pitching win, to go along with a triple, homer and six RBIs at the plate. Lexi Thomas went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and three runs scored in the victory. Nicolette Barranger was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles in Haddonfield’s loss.

BURLCO

• Cinnaminson 17, Florence 5: Sara Beth Coyle and Olivia Pestridge drove in three runs apiece and Brooke Figiel doubled and scored three runs in Cinnaminson’s victory. Sandra Cosenzo smacked a double and had two RBIs in the loss for Florence.
