FOOTBALL: 10 Games to Watch for Oct. 28-29

Jajuan Hudson and the rest of the Camden High School football team will look to snap a two-game losing skid when they travel to No. 6 Rancocas Valley on Saturday.

FRIDAY

Collingswood (5-1) at Willingboro (5-2): The Panthers have won five straight after falling to Haddonfield in their opener. Mike Taulane leads the team with eight touchdowns. The Chimeras are also riding a five-game winning streak. Junior QB Trae Greene had thrown for 933 yards and 10 touchdowns. Amir Murray and Tarron Marsett have combined for nine on the ground.

AROUND FOOTBALL: Plenty of news and notes from South Jersey this week

No. 14 St. Joseph (5-2) at No. 2 St. Augustine (7-0): St. Joe saw its five-game winning streak against the Hermits snapped last season. The Wildcats’ two losses this year against Holy Spirit and Cedar Creek have been by identical scores in OT – 17-14. The Hermits have blistered opponents, averaging nearly 45 per game. Kyle Dobbins has rushed for nearly 1,100 yards.

No. 13 Holy Spirit (6-1) at No. 4 Camden Catholic (6-0): The game is big in terms of power points for both teams. Senior running back Reggie Jean-Charles leads the Spartans in rushing and TDs, going over the 1,000-yard mark last week. The Irish are led by senior RB/DB Nazir Streater, who is closing in on 1,000 yards.

No. 11 Cedar Creek (6-1) at Haddonfield (4-2): The Pirates have won three in a row and are coming off an OT win at St. Joseph. The defending sectional champs are on top of the S.J. Group 2 power-point chase. The Bulldawgs have lost two straight. Senior QB/DE Brendan Gilmartin leads the team on both sides of the ball.

No. 7 Cherokee (4-2) at No. 5 Lenape (6-0): Game of the Week. Cherokee has owned the matchup between district rivals, winning seven of the last eight. The Chiefs are riding a four-game winning streak, with John Lovett (919 rush yards, 15 total TDs) leading the charge. The Indians have played stellar defense, allowing just 30 points.

Cinnaminson (5-1) at No. 3 West Deptford (6-0): The Pirates had their bye last week and are coming off a 12-8 loss to Collingswood. Senior QB Shaun Davilla directs their attack. The Eagles are coming off a decisive win at Haddonfield and are averaging over 400 yards on the ground. Anthony Seas and Gio Gismondi have combined for 23 TDs.

Williamstown (1-5) at No. 1 Timber Creek (6-0): The Braves have lost five straight, three games by a total of five points. Sophomore QB Jonathan Collins has thrown for 907 yards and nine TDs. The Chargers are led by junior QB Devin Leary, who has thrown for 1,655 yards and 23 TDs – tops in S.J. Ezrah Archie has 12 TD catches.

Schalick (6-0) at Woodstown (4-2): The Cougars have been red hot, with junior Tyreese Snipe leading the ground attack with 561 yards and nine TDs. He also had 3 ½ sacks and eight QB hurries. Junior RB Cody Wolf leads the Wolverines with 416 rush yards and six TDs. They’re coming off a 38-32 win over Deptford.

SATURDAY

Delsea (4-3) at Woodrow Wilson (4-2): The four-time defending S.J. Group 3 champion Crusaders have won three straight and are in the thick of the playoff hunt again. Charles Walker, Taj Summiel and Rashaad Williams have combined for 20 TDs. The Tigers are coming off a 21-14 win over Triton and have used a balanced attack.

Camden (2-4) at No. 6 Rancocas Valley (6-1): The Panthers have lost three straight and need to get on track if they want a S.J. Group 3 playoff berth. Senior QB Drew Harris has thrown for 771 yards and eight TDs. The Red Devils have won their last two. Junior RB Iverson Clement is among S.J. leaders in rushing and TDs.
