Police investigate abduction attempt in Gloucester Twp.

Gloucester Township police are searching for a man accused of attempting to abduct a woman.

GLOUCESTER TWP. - Police are searching for a man who tried to pull a woman into his vehicle Monday evening.

According to police, an unidentified woman was standing outside her home on Mayapple Road around 9 p.m. when the suspect exited a vehicle and approached her. He asked her for directions before grabbing her and attempting to pull her into the vehicle.

The victim screamed and the suspect released her. She did not suffer any significant injuries. Family members saw the vehicle exit toward Sicklerville Road. The vehicle is described as a newer model white SUV with black trim and in-dash navigation system.

The suspect is described as in his 20s, 5’6”-5’9” with patchy facial hair and wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
